Tribe Shut-Down the Yankees
NEW YORK (TW) -- Cliff Lee went 7 innings to help shut-out Chien-Ming Wang and the New York Yankees, 3-0, Wednesday night. Lee became the 1st Tribe pitcher to win his first 6 starts since Greg Swindell in 1988 and lowered his ERA to 0.84, the best in MLB. He has allowed just 4 earned runs in 44 2/3 innings this season
Victor Martinez had a sacrifice fly in the 1st inning, Casey Blake singled in a run in the 4th and David Dellucci added an RBI single in the 5th. The Tribe also clinched their 1st winning season series against the Yankees since 1992.
TW Game Star: Cliff Lee: (6-0, 0.81 ERA) went 7.0 innings, allowing no runs, off of 6 hits, while striking-out 7.
